Applicants looking for a part-time position will be considered on a pro rata salary basis.
You will work as part of an engineering project team to deliver robust and innovative technology solutions to SeeByte’s customers worldwide. You will help architect, design, develop and test exciting maritime robotic software systems, as part of an agile team. You will also perform reviews and mentor junior team members. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge delivering software solutions involving elements such as Autonomy, A.I, Machine Learning and Command and Control of Uncrewed Systems.
You will have demonstrable experience architecting and delivering technical solutions meeting customer requirements within scope and within budget, and demonstrable technical leadership.
- Demonstratable software engineering experience, working as part of a team of engineers
- Demonstrable technical leadership experience mentoring engineers
- Graduated with a BSc or an MSc in Software Engineering or a similar numerical degree (2:1 or above)
- Experience working in C++/C on a Linux platform (e.g., Ubuntu)
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with external partners and clients
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to mentor engineers and manage technical development in the company
- Willingness to travel abroad to support on-site client demonstrations and training
- Enthused to learn new technology
- 5+ years professional software experience (commercial or academia).
- Familiarity with Robotics Middleware (e.g., ROS)
- Knowledge of Continuous Delivery frameworks (e.g., Docker, Jenkins)
- Use of current programming language features (e.g., Boost, OpenCV, C++-17 onwards for C++)
- Experience with automating application deployment and environment configuration management
- Software verification and deployment techniques
- Simulation, Robotics and Machine Learning techniques
